Children have an enormous capacity for joy.

A two-year-old can become deeply absorbed in a piece of scrap paper, and delight in the simple act of tearing it. A ten-year-old finds joy in presenting the anthology of original poetry she composed for her independent study, inspired by changemakers of the past and present. Powerful learning begets joy. At Blue School, as your child grows, she reads novels, conducts experiments, and debates important global issues with the same meaningful, productive and joyful spirit she exhibited in playing with small figures, sinking cups in the bathtub, and stringing together newly learned words. Learning is wantable; that’s why you can often find Blue School children running to school.
