Ways to Give

Annual Fund

Like all independent schools, we rely on the generosity of our parents to partner with us and provide the support necessary to balance the annual operating budget, of which tuition payments only cover about 70%. This is achieved through donations to the Annual Fund and participation in our yearly fundraising events.

Contributing to the Annual Fund enriches the child’s exceptional experience by reinforcing the commitment to limiting class sizes, providing professional development to an exceptional faculty who embrace different learning styles, and designing an inspiring learning environment with all the tools, supplies and technology your child needs to reach their full potential.  Everything from teacher salaries to construction zone materials to our new science and dance/movement specialists benefit from this.  The Fund also ensures our ability to welcome a diverse student body, where we are able to offer tuition assistance to close to 18% of our children.

Last, year, we reached 76% parent and 98% staff participation and are confident that we will reach 100% among all groups this year!

Considerations for Giving

Timing: Giving at the beginning of the year is applied directly to daily experience Blue School experience. Our fiscal year ends August 31, 2014 but we encourage all gifts to be made by December 31, 2013 so that the funds can be used to benefit this school year’s budget.

Gifts can be made by cash, check or credit card either in person, by mail, over the phone or through our secure online checkout system.

Matching: Many companies gladly offer this benefit and will provide you with a form to submit to us with your donation.  If you are unsure whether your company participates in such a program, we will gladly find out for you.

Gifts of Stock, Bequests, Charitable Trusts and Life Insurance Proceeds can be coordinated through the Development Office.

Please contact Blakely Braniff, Director of Development, at 212 228 6341 x113 or blakely@blueschool.org with any questions.

Blue School is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit, and therefore all donations are tax deductible to extent of IRS regulations. Upon receipt of your gift, we will send you an acknowledgement letter that you can provide as a receipt for tax purposes.
