Chief Financial Officer

Broad Scope of Position:

The CFO helps to develop and oversee the financial strategies and operations for Blue School and other entities. He or she is a key thought partner to the Head of School in the implementation of the strategic vision for the School, and also to the Executive Director/Business Development in the effort to identify new sources of funds for the growth and expansion of Blue School. The CFO is the primary staff liaison responsible for organizing and facilitating the Board Finance and Audit Committee meetings. As a key leader in the School, he or she will have functional responsibility for both financial leadership and human resources, managing the three members of the Business Office team at Blue School. He or she is also a member of the School's leadership team, and acts as a visible community leader, working with parents, teachers, leadership, and Board members on implementing the mission and vision of the School.

Technology Manager

Summary:

The Technology Manager is responsible for all technology equipment and operations throughout the pre-primary program, primary program, and administrative departments of Blue School. Reporting to the Director of Operations, s/he works with the Director of Operations, Curriculum Directors, classroom teachers and specialist teachers to craft and implement the technology vision of the school, including planning and implementing expanded technology capacity for upcoming Middle School grades. The Technology Manager has expert knowledge of MAC operating systems, servers, Wi-Fi, telephones, etc. This person also coordinates outside technological services as needed. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are a must for this position.

The primary responsibilities of this position include:

- Uphold the values of the school and ensure all work supports the mission of the school.

- Oversee all academic technology

  • Provide technical support and training for students and faculty
  • Develop best practices for classroom tech and software including MacBooks, iPads, and AV equipment (projectors, document cameras, Apple TVs, etc.)
  • Oversee creation and development of online student portfolios
  • Work with STEAM specialist to integrate technology into the classroom
  • Research and implement tools and platforms (LMS, software, library, etc.)

- Oversee technology operations

  • Coordinate with outside consultants and vendors to maintain optimally functional phone system, printers, network, servers, security system and copy machines.
  • Troubleshoot out-of-order equipment and coordinate repairs as needed
  • Oversee budget for technology capital and operating expenses
  • Work interdepartmentally to support Student Information System(s)

- Support the Director of Operations

  • Oversee technology components of the building security system
  • Maintain control access to the building
  • Track and maintain inventory of key fobs; collect/distribute as needed
  • Coordinate office moves/construction impacting technology (phones, printers, etc.)

- Collaborate with outsourced IT support company to ensure that all network components and hardware are operating optimally

- Attend team meetings as needed

- Additional items as reasonably related to this role

Qualifications:

  • Expert with Apple hardware, OS X, and iOS, and the Google Apps for Education Suite (Administration, Mail, Drive, Sites, etc.)
  • Experience with MDM software (Meraki Systems Manager, Casper, etc.)
  • Proficiency with Windows 7, Windows 8 and Server
  • Ability to communicate a wide variety of technical ideas to wide range of users
  • An excellent, creative problem solver with a high level of attention to detail and follow through
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a busy, collaborative work environment
  • Team leadership skills a plus
  • Experience with project management
  • Bachelor’s and 2-5 years experience in a similar function, preferably in a school setting
