Chief Financial Officer

Broad Scope of Position:

The CFO helps to develop and oversee the financial strategies and operations for Blue School and other entities. He or she is a key thought partner to the Head of School in the implementation of the strategic vision for the School, and also to the Executive Director/Business Development in the effort to identify new sources of funds for the growth and expansion of Blue School. The CFO is the primary staff liaison responsible for organizing and facilitating the Board Finance and Audit Committee meetings. As a key leader in the School, he or she will have functional responsibility for both financial leadership and human resources, managing the three members of the Business Office team at Blue School. He or she is also a member of the School's leadership team, and acts as a visible community leader, working with parents, teachers, leadership, and Board members on implementing the mission and vision of the School.

Director of Development

Broad Scope of Position:

The Director of Development develops and oversees the internal and external fundraising and community development strategy for the school using mission-driven strategies for raising awareness and funds through individuals, foundations, corporate entities, government agencies, and special events. We carefully cultivate a culture of giving and gratitude through events, conversation, relationship-building, visibility, and a focus on children and families. In addition, as part of the Blue School mission and vision, we also strive to think beyond our own school community, and seek to find ways to fulfill our public purpose to develop and share our dynamically balanced approach to education. The Director of Development is a member of the Leadership Team, reporting to the Head of School, and working collaboratively with the Executive Director of Business Development and with the Development Committee of the Board. He or she develops an annual Fundraising Plan in conjunction with the Head of School and Board, and is responsible for implementation and oversight of the plan.
