ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT

We are currently accepting resumes for a full-time Assistant Director of Development. This position reports directly to the Director of Development and assists the overall fundraising campaign along with interaction and collaboration with community memebers.

Responsibilities include: Providing a full spectrum of support to the department’s fundraising and community building initiatives, including system management of annual donor campaigns, event coordination, database management, record-keeping, report generation, and relationship building with parents and outside partners. The Assistant Director of Development partners with the Director to create a culture of giving and form meaningful connections with the community. The position contributes to the writing and editing of fundraising and/or marketing materials and develops other supporting materials for specific fundraising activities. The Assistant Director of Development manages sensitive data and is required to interact discretely with a variety of internal and external contacts. This person coordinates temporary staff and volunteers as needed.

Experience Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of professional experience preferred
  • B.A. Degree required
  • Professional experience in a non-profit environment preferred
  • History with independent schools a plus

Knowledge and Skills: 

The ideal candidate is someone who is enthusiastic and community-minded with excellent organizational and project management skills. This person is self-motivated with a positive energy, and a customer service orientation and has discretion with financial matters. Must be highly organized, a good decision maker and problem solver, and have the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities in a collaborative work environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, general web and social networks along with the ability to learn a new database system is a must.

PART-TIME FINANCE AND OPERATIONS INTERN

We are currently accepting resumes for a part-time Finance and Operations Intern. This position reports directly to the Director of Finance and Operations and serves as an assistant to the Controller as well as Program and Operations Manager. 

Responsibilities include: Administrative tasks such as creating and maintaining files, making copies, basic accounting using QuickBooks, and other ad hoc projects as needed to help recovery from Hurricane Sandy.

Experience Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in similar function

Knowledge and Skills: 

The ideal candidate is self-motivated with strong communication skills, a positive energy, and a customer service orientation. Must have a good working knowledge of excel, be highly organized, a good decision maker and problem solver, and have the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities in a collaborative work environment that moves at a fast pace.

PART-TIME AFTER SCHOOL SECURITY AND FRONT DESK RECEPTION

We are currently accepting resumes for a part-time After School Security and Front Desk Reception position. This position reports directly to the Director of Finance and Operations and serves as front door security as well as reception during non-peak school hours.

Responsibilities include: Maintain security procedures for building, staff, and school community, communicate directly with visitors and keep visitor log, answer phones, take messages, receive packages, light lifting is possible

  • 3-5+ years of relevant experience in similar function
  • B.A. Degree required.

FREELANCE DRUPAL WEB SUPPORT

We are currently accepting applications for freelance web programmers with expertise in the Drupal CMS Platform. Beginning immediately, Blue School is looking for freelance support on minor changes to the website, including implementation of an updated layout design.  

  • Candidates must have extensive experience with Drupal and ability to execute clear instructions on updates and added features.  
  • Hours will range from week to week and can be flexible.
