Greetings from Admissions
We are happy that you are interested in learning more about Blue School.
The admissions process is about building a relationship -- giving your family an opportunity to get to know the school and community deeply; and giving us a chance to get to know your family. Our goal is to assist you in the exciting and sometimes daunting task of choosing an educational community that is the best fit your child and for your family.
You are welcome to tour Blue School while school is in session. We hold admissions tours for age 2-grade 5 families on Tuesday and Thursday mornings (sign up here). Families applying to grade 6 or 7, please contact me in our admissions office to schedule a family visit: firstname.lastname@example.org. Regardless of the grade for which you are applying, you will have the opportunity to observe in our classrooms to see how Blue School's approach balances academic mastery, creative thinking, and social and emotional intelligence throughout our programs from pre-primary through middle school.
After you have submitted an application, your child will be invited to a playgroup session or student visit facilitated by Blue School teachers. Finally, you will be asked to attend an interview with a member of our admissions team in order for you to ask questions in a one-on-one setting and tell us about your hopes and expectations for your child's education.
A successful Blue School candidate -- at whatever entry point -- is a child who demonstrates a developmentally appropriate amount of independence, openness and curiosity. At the kindergarten entry point, we are also looking for the capacity to thrive in an environment that gives children a great deal of ownership over learning.
If you have any questions at all about the admissions process or about the programs offered, please do not hesitate to call or email me. I look forward to getting to know you and your child during the months ahead.
